A federal court issued an injunction preventing the U.S. Department of Education from implementing parts of the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan and other IDR plans. Note: Eligible borrowers may now enroll in PAYE and ICR Plans. Please check StudentAid.gov/saveaction for more information.
Emails were recently sent by the U.S. Department of Education outlining activities that are occurring on your accounts. Activities to extend SAVE Plan recertification dates and forbearances are still pending implementation and MOHELA will notify you once they are complete. Please watch for more information.
Borrowers interested in earning PSLF and/or income-driven repayment credit and who meet the eligibility criteria can enroll in IDR plans other than SAVE. To learn more, visit studentaid.gov/loan-simulator.
Due to changes in PSLF regulations, you can now buy back certain months of your payment history to make them qualifying payments for PSLF. Specifically, you can buy back months that don’t count as qualifying payments because you were in an ineligible deferment or forbearance status.
You can buy back these months only if you still have an outstanding balance on your loan(s), you have approved qualifying employment for these same months, and buying back these months will complete your total of 120 qualifying PSLF payments.

User ID - Your User ID must be between 6 and 62 characters. User ID's cannot include special characters such as parenthesis "()" or brackets, "{}, []".
Password - Your password must be between 8 and 32 characters with at least three of the following:
a lowercase letter,
an uppercase letter,
a number,
and a special character, except for parenthesis "()", brackets, "{}, []", and an ampersand, "&".
Password Hint - your password hint cannot contain any special characters

As of July 1, 2024, the management of the PSLF program has successfully transitioned from MOHELA and now is fully managed by ED on StudentAid.gov. ED has resumed processing of PSLF forms and is currently working to update PSLF payment counts.

On May 1, 2024, ED began transitioning the management of the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program from MOHELA to ED. This transition is now complete, and TEACH Grant recipients can visit StudentAid.gov/teach-grant-program to manage their grants.
